Advantages: Switch of pace, great back story, answers, excellent ending
Disadvantages: None.
Kill Bill Vol. 2 was released a year after the first, in 2004 and was of course directed by Quentin Tarantino again.
The movie carries on right from Vol. 1 as they are essentially the same movie as a whole, but split into two parts due to the length. The Bride (Uma Thurman) is continuing her revenge of her former assassin group but of course this time it involves Bill (David Carradine). Even though most people say that Vol. 1 is better and I would more or less agree, I still love the back story of the Bride and Bill, such as the intense training with her master Pai-Mei, including the famous One Inch Punch.
However, Vol. 1 and Vol. 2 are actually very different. The first volume was centred around stylish gore and fast paced action whereas Vol. 2 is much more drama and dialogue, answering all the questions from the first volume but with important gore scenes where necessary. I really enjoyed this change. It was almost an opposite switch from Vol. 1 and is very effective.
If you've watched the first volume then this is a no-brainer but if you haven't watched either then definitely see them in the correct order because otherwise you'll be getting answers that you don't know the questions for.
Summary: Highly recommended.
