A touching and funny comedy (Knocked Up (DVD))

Advantages: Great cast, funny and moving story.

Disadvantages: Quite crude in places and lots of swearing

Knocked Up is a film about Alison Scott (a career woman played by Katherine Heigl) and Ben Stone (a jobless couch and penniless guy played by Seth Rogan). They happen to meet in a club one night and enjoy a drunken one-night-stand together, even though they are complete opposites. 8 weeks later, Alison realises she is pregnant and contacts Ben to let him know. They decide to make a go of a relationship for the baby's sake but Alison eventually realises that they aren't right for eachother. Ben knows that he must change and grow up for Alison and his baby.

This movie is fantastic on a whole range of levels. It is funny but also very touching and manages to deliver a very valuable lesson about growing up at the same time.

The birth scene is also very realistic for a movie like this but again it manages to be funny at the same time.

I recommend watching the extended and unprotected version of the DVD as it goes into parts of the film more than they cinema or TV version does and will develop on the storyline.

Summary: Watch this funny and moving film to feel uplifted at the end.
