Krrish is a Bollywood Superhero movie and Sequel to Koi Mil Gaya which I reviewed last week. It was released in the year 2006, and was one of the biggest hit of that year. Its made by Rakesh Roshan and the Leading actor is Hrithik Roshan as Krrish.

Plot:

Rohit is blessed with superpowers by Jadoo, Nisha is pregnant. Rohit goes to Singapore, to work with Dr Arya a genius who wants to build a computer that can enable them to see the future with the help of Rohit. But when Krishna is born his parents die due to some Incident and now his care is taken by his grandmother Sonia Mehra.

Rohit powers are transferred to Krishna as he is his son, Sonia take Krishna out of school when he is aged 10, because she wants to protect him and does not wants anyone to know about his Superpowers. So she leaves the town and goes to a hill station, where she teaches him, and he has no friends there as everyone think he is different. So he grows up with the nature. He can run quickly then a horse, can jump high, can climb on a mountain quickly, he can do anything which no one else can do.

He has only few friends but all of them go to town to study further or to work, but his grandmother does not allow him to go, which always saddens him and he always ask her why he cant go.

One day he sees someone falling from the sky, he runs and catches her and its Priya, she falls because of malfunction of Parachute. Seeing Priya Krishna falls in lobe with her, Priya is from Singapore and has come with friends on a trip. After few days Priya returns back to Singapore leaving Krishna Heartbroken.

On return she and her friend Honey are fired to from a TV Channel where they work due to coming back late from holiday. But to keep their Job they tell their Boss that they will bring a guy from India who can do everything, run faster, climb faster etc..If they show this on their TV their channel will become number one.

Priya knows that Krishna won't come to Singapore, so she tells him that she loves him and wants him to meet her mother.
After much Drama Krishna grandmother allows him to go to Singapore, but she gives him promise that he won't let anyone know about his powers.

So he reaches Singapore and goes to a circus with Priya, a fire break downs there a lots of children get stuck in there. He wants to save them but as promised to his grandmother cannot reveal his identity so wears a mask, and save children. When one girl asks him his name he says it's Krrish. And this way the superhero gets his name.

Now there is a reward of $25,000 to who finds out about who is this Krrish...Will anyone get the reward? Will Priya fall in love with Krishna? Will Dr Arya be able to build the computer and rule the world? All this can only be known once you watch the film...

Music:

Music of this film has been given by Rajesh Roshan, brother of Rakesh Roshan. All the songs are good, but personally I like 1 or 2 songs. I like the dance number Dil na Diya, in which again Hrithik shows his dancing Skills. Also other one is koi Tumsa Nahin is a good song. Rest of the song like Chori Chori, Pyar ki ek kahaani are good. Overall the music is not that great like Koi Mil Gaya but a good one to listen.

My Analysis:

Well when it comes to sequel most the films don't work, because they are not able to re-create the magic. And people do expect a lot if the first film is a huge hit. But Krrish didn't go wrong anywhere, the movie starts really very good taking from where it was left in Koi Mil Gaya.

As in Koi Mil Gaya there were aliens shown, there is no Alien in this movie. Here the superpowers are shown of Hrithik, where he can run fast, swim fast, Jump High, and do everything possible.

Krrish get up has a mask for him, so that no one knows his identity, but clothes wise I feel its been copied from Matrix.

Krrish was a huge hit before the release of it, as everyone was waiting to see this movie after Koi Mil Gaya. But the way movie was promoted before it's released made a way for it. And full marks to Rakesh Roshan. They did smart thing by focussing it on children and every kid wanted to see the movie, and which in turn makes that every parent have to watch it with their kids.

They were Krrish mask in the Market, Krrish Watched, Hand bands, School Bags, T-Shirts, Water Bottles etc.. Everything possible that can attract a kid, so two months before the release and also for many months after the release Krrish is famous with most of the kids.

In fact one day me and my friend and his small cousin were all going on bike, suddenly my friend wore his small cousin Krrish Mask and while driving every kid was looking at him and shouting Krrish and he was waving on them as he was Krrish.

Hrithik Roshan has once again proven that he can do everything. He has the personality to play a superhero. Although he was much better in Koi Mil Gaya, but it's because the character was different in that. He played the role of Krrish brilliantly, and he has carried the personality of Krrish the superhero very well. He did work hard to get all the stunts right, and he was critically acclaimed. But this time didn't win award for his role in Krrish. But full marks to him.

Priyanka Chopra looks really good in this movie, and does full justice to her part.

Rekha is also good in her part, and has given her best of playing a grandmother.

Naseeruddin Shah - well he is one of the great actors ever. But he was not used properly or should I say his script didn't had much for him to offer. For whatever part he is there in the film he is brilliant. As the film solely focuses on Hrithik.

Rakesh Roshan as a director is brilliant, this is the third movie for this duo of Father-Son. And all the three are huge hits. He has executed this movie really well, and hit all the right spots to make it a big hit, be it casting, story, direction or even promotion everything was perfect.

On the whole Krrish is a movie for everyone, if you are a Bollywood fan you will love it. And if you are not then you should defiantly give it a try as I'm sure it won't let you down. The special effects are so well executed that you can't believe that how well its been executed in a Bollywood movie. Krrish is an entertainer which will not let you down once the movie is over.

Krrish 2 will also be coming soon, but the story has not yet been finalised. The last thing heard was that Rakesh Roshan & Rakesh Om Prakash (Rang De Basanti Fame) both working on the script and whoever comes with a better script will direct the movie and other will give a helping hand.
But I'm sure that this one will also be a big hit.

You can get this movie DVD almost everywhere starting from £8. But if you shop a bit you might get it for a cheaper price. This movie is available in different subtitles.
