Advantages: Great action and plot
Disadvantages: None
This is one of my favourite action films and it is amazing that out of all the good performances only Kim Bassinger enoyed Oscar success mind you it is quite possible that the strong male cast effectively cancelled each over out when it came to voting time.
Danny Devito narrates this epic tale of police corruption in the Hollywood of the 1940's, Deviot is a sleavy journalist who with the help of a police officer played by Kein Spacey sets up Hollywood actors and actresses so that the cop gete the arrests and he gets the scoop for his low level paper.
Meanwhile there is a viscious gang war going on in Los Angeles and two police officers played by Guy Pearce and Russell Crowe find themsleves forming an uneasy alliance when it appears they are the only ones in the department that the other can trust. Guy Peace is excellent and I reckon this is the best performance I have seen from Crowe.

I ove the scenery in this film and the director certainly managed to combine the glamour of Hollywood with the seedy under belly. The flm is rather dark in nature and has some excellent plot twists and action scenes.
One I would definately recommend.
Summary: Great film.
