Well I think it’s pretty obvious that “most” members are not going to be allowed to post new suggestions for the near future. So im having to put this cool naughty French film up where theres an oppurtunity.It did win something at Cannes way back ,so why not here.

Here we have yet another typically French arty “relationship” flick. As per usual, the older froggy philosophy teacher is into young girls as his ego goes to battle with his impending mid life crisis.
His work is getting him down and he needs a break, preferably around the kneecaps, as he’s a bit of a dick.
The obnoxious lecturer falls out of a strip bar on the seedier side of Paris where he save an older guy from a serious kicking.

His philosophical curiosity takes the better of him as he visits the man from the bar a few days later. The man on that night spoke of his heartbreak over a woman, perhaps the only thing that drives guys away from the footy.
When he goes to the address, he discovers the old guy had died. In the apartment there is a young seventeen-year-old that had bonked the old perv to death. The thirty something immediately becomes obsessed with the rubenesque attractive girl.

Cecilia is so free and non-ambiguous that he contemplates the perfect non-loving sexual relationship with the shapely but simple sweet girl. They begin something that involves a lot of bonking and little conversation. Just the way the pompous arrogant guy lies it.
But things are complicated when the temptress has a younger beau and cuts her shag time with the increasingly frantic messed up lecturer.

His jealousy begins to tear him apart as he realizes he cant posses the one thing he has no love for. But t he threat of losing her to a younger more virile man peps up his selfish want and possession of the Kate Winslettesque babe.
She one of those girls that every guy likes, vulumptiou
s breasts and curvy hips. Any bony thin girls reading this, we love a bit of meat you know, eat more chocolate!.

It develops into a father and submissive daughter metaphor as he dominates her to do what he desires, and when he desires it. But she tires of the tiresome intense bore of a man and limits him to two days a week as she concentrates on her youger Bo.
What I do find strange is that the guy is poorly hung, yet in most French movies the guy can still take a girl up the tradesman, now that just ain’t possible unless you’re a friend of John Holmes right!.

The more energy he puts into her shagging like rabbits,the less he has for her emotinally.Sounds familiar hey girls.The inevitable decision arrives for the two totally different people with the girl unfazed by it all.Where as the boorish philosophizing is drowning in his own art of words and manipulation.

Its run of the mill intense French cinema with poetic sub titles and strong acting. Sophia Guillemin is scrumptious as the milky breasty teen, to Charles Berlings gobby middle class pr**k.
Theres some cracking lines buries in the sexual tension, most of them put downs of the unsophisticated care free girl.
“I find her c**t more expressive than her mouth”, is one of the riskier ones.

It’s in the two quid section at Blockbusters and im sure it will pop up on BBC2 or C4 one day soon. But there aren’t many decent films out at the moment so im reduced to trawling the world films section.
If you like French film then this will appease you on a Sunday afternoon.
Solid predictable Fracias cinema.
