Advantages: Funny in places
Disadvantages: Dialogue to make you cringe
Linsay Lohan stars in this comedy film that I actually found quite enjoyable, it is not the sort of film that I would go out of my way to watch again but it merits at least one viewing as it certainly has its funny moments and it is a fairly harmless sort of comedy.
In the film Lohan plays the role of Thea an the role of her best friend is played by Cheryl Hines. Thea works for a rather obnoxious boss as a secretary and he is a rather odious man who one days loses his temper and promptly sacks her, faced with losing her job Thea tells a small lie about being pregnant however this lie comes back to haunt her and then snow balls out of control.
One of the consequences of the lie is that she comes to realise that not only does she have a vile boss but her boyfriend is nothing to write home about either however she does meet a bloke called Nick who is the brother of her boss and a man with a very different personality than her boss.
Now this sort of film is hardly likely to win any awards however it is a funny film in places and given the sort of mood I was in when I watched it then it ppealed to me. Lohan is good in the lead role as a slightly scatty leadng character who lets a little lie lead her into some rather uncomfortable situations.
It is not a long film at just under 90 minutes in length which is about right forthis sort of comedy, the ending is rather predictable however it manages to avoid being overly sentimental and this is a pretty acceptable comedy that is only really ruined by a couple of scenes where the dialogue did make me cringe a bit.
