Advantages: relive your childhood , That worm, David Bowie's crotch
Disadvantages: David Bowie's crotch
This film was the making of my childhood, so very good, you cant fault it at all, perfect in every way. Its one of those classic fantasies of the eighties, like Willow and Dark Crystal, but i'd say it was better than both those. It stars David Bowie as the goblin king who's stolen Sarah's little brother and taken him to the middle of the Labrynth, hence the name. Sounds simple, and i guess it is, but its not story line that your after if you're going for this kind of film. Sarah decides to try and get her brother back by entering the maze and continues through a number of encounters with a number of different, but hilarious characters, delightful. Most notable of these have to be the little worm in the wall, who gives the maze a cockney edge and load of humour, wonderful. Ludo is another favourite of mine, the stereotypical (if thats possible for a monster) gentle giant, who everyone i know whos seen it loves. The Hensons have done a marvellous job with the puppetry here, and everything works so very well together almost perfectly, a good combination of actors and puppets. A final note for any female viewers out there is david bowies crotch, which is of great interest to a lot of my femal friends, bizarre. Watch it!

- 04/09/02 LOL One of my favourite films - although I think I would have listed David Bowie's crotch under disadvantages as frankly, it's scary! Nice op! Fran |
