*My Opinon*
Overall a decent film. The cast superb; Jolie, Voight and Brit 007 Daniel Craig sparkle in this film adaptation of the hit video game that whilst being a critical failure was a box office sucess. The special effects fantastic and the fight scenes well cherographed.
However, the real reason that this was a success was Angelina Jolie. Her performance has to be ranked as one of her finest as she gives a throughly commited perfromance to a largley physically challenging (not to mention draining) role. She doesn't just impersonate Lara Croft is IS Lara Croft. She of course then becomes the epitome of every teenage boys lust filled fantasy and her dedication to doing all the stunt work herself and making sue she speaks in a plum british accent (terribly tough to do for an American i heard) just shows what a good actress, especially in the action or adventure movies, Jolie is.
It's just a shame that the film couldn't serve the much loved video game series and the deadicated Jolie any better than it did. The plot- nothing we haven't seen before, the supporting cast-one dimensional and the mysterious artifact-dull and boring. What could have been a great film, with the fablous Jolie at the lead, became a shadow of the video game series and a mere copy of pevious video game-film adaptations, BORING.
