      Laurel & Hardy volume 3
      ===================
      A single DVD containing 3 films, all of which are very enjoyable to watch.

      All 3 films come in Black/White and a colourised version.

      WAY OUT WEST
      ==========
      Who can forget the 'Lonesome Pine' and the clunk on the head that sends Stan a few octaves higher?
      The boys are trying to help a damsel in distress get her gold mine back and along the way all sorts of mayhem and misunderstandings happen.
      Superb slapstick and this film show Laurel and Hardy at their most polished.
      An extremely funny film from start to finish.

      ONE GOOD TURN.
      ==========
      Stan and Ollie auction their car off to help out an old lady but as usual thing go slightly awry. The car will end up squashed of that you can be sure and the pair gets into a slapstick fight with passers by in the street.
      Another excellent 'short' feature from the boys.

      THICKER THAN WATER.
      ======
      Ollie gets a blood transfusion from Stan with rib crackingly funny results. The pair are extremely funny in this short and the slapstick and role swapping that goes on is weird and hilarious at the same time.
      The third and to be honest all 3 film on this DVD are worth the money.

      DVD features:
      ***********
      Black and white and some colourisation.
      Chapter selection and subtitles only.

      Weird watching the colourised versions somehow not right but funny none the less.

      L & H never fail to make you laugh and with this single DVD you will not be disappointed.

        Laurel & Hardy Volume 3 - Way Out West/Shorts
        ***************************************

        The magnificent Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy star in this wonderfully funny DVD.
        So let me take you on a tour of these 3 great films.
        Where better to carry on than with volume 3.

        This single DVD contains the following films:

        WAY OUT WEST - restored black-and-white version
        WAY OUT WEST - computer-colour version
        ONE GOOD TURN - black-and-white version
        ONE GOOD TURN - computer-colour version
        THICKER THAN WATER - restored black-and-white version
        THICKER THAN WATER - computer-colour version

        A small Synopsis of each movie and my humble opinions on each to follow:

        WAY OUT WEST.
        *************
        Made in 1937.

        Stan and Ollie must deliver a deed for the ownership of a gold mine to Mary. Mary lives in Brushwood Gulch but the boys have already upset the sheriffs wife and are told to leave on the next stage coach out of town.
        They end up giving the deed to the wrong person but discover their mishap before leaving town and along with Mary set out to get the valuable deed back.

        What ensues is the boys at their very best with every gag a cracker and the slapstick topnotch.

        This is Laurel and Hardy's most remembered Movies in the main due to THE song, 'The Lonesome Pine'.
        Also contains Ollie's superb 'soft shoe shuffle' scene.
        For me, the most memorable Laurel and Hardy movie.

        Run Time 65 Minutes.

        ONE GOOD TURN.
        **************
        Made in 1931
        Stan and ollie are offered some food by an old lady but whilst at her house they overhear the landlord threatening her with eviction, not realising the old lady and the 'landlord' are in fact rehearsing for a play.
        They auction their car to help and the auction produces some classic hilarious Stan and Ollie moments.
        A superb short from the boys.
        Run time 20 minutes

        THICKER THAN WATER.
        *****************
        Made in 1935
        Ollie listens to stan over money matters, as if you would!, and ends up wasting his and his wifes saving on an old grandfather clock.
        Mrs Hardy is not happy and puts poor Ollie in the hospital !
        Here he receives a blood transfusion from Stan with hilarious results.

        A very very funny short film, very memorable.

        Run time 20 minutes

        The colourised versions are fantastic to watch and worth the price on their own.

        DVD features:
        ************
        Filmed in: Black & white and colourised
        Language: English
        Region: All Regions
        Number of discs: 1

        Run time: 207 minutes

        A DVD where all 3 films are very funny.
        You will not be disappointed.
        Hope you enjoyed the review.

        Greg.
