Advantages: Brilliant - gripping,emotive

This film follows a hitman and a young girl that he has 'adopted' along the way. The imagery of a young Natalie Portman is startling, and verges on paedophilic as we watch a beautiful and bizarre relationship develop throughout all occurrences. Leon, quiet, keeps himself to himself, goes out and murders people for money, drinks copious amounts of milk, and keeps fit in his bedroom. Not really the type, you'd imagine, to take a recently orphaned 13 year old loud-mouth into his home.

The plot has some interesting twists, and the pair give an emotive and humorous performance, entertaining the audience, but also worrying us a little with their closeness. Leon, as would be expected, is affected deeply by this girl, who proves to be his eventual downfall in the evil policeman, played very convincingly by a greasy Gary Oldman.

The action and shoot outs are tremendous, and I found them pretty different to your average hitman kinda film. The climax mixes a bit of sadness with humour, and I love it. The overall effect of the film is great. This is one that I can watch over and over again. I suppose its almost a great combination of a chick flick and an action film - watch it!
