In the midst of family problems, Detective McClane is asked to pick up a computer hacker wanted by the FBI, and to deliver him to their offices in Washington for questioning. Simple enough, unfortunately, he shows up at Matthew Farrell's door just as internet-based terrorists are attempting to get rid of the last link that can lead the FBI back to them, and McClane just barely manages to get them out alive.

As the internet-based terrorists start taking over the city by playing with the traffic lights, telephone lines, television, the internet and the country's electrical grid, and with terrorist assassins pursuing them, Detective McClane and Matthew are forced to take the offensive while trying to stay alive.

This is a rambunctious, on-the-edge-of-your-seat action thriller that is, in my opinion, just as entertaining as the first three movies in the series - if not more so.

A bit older, a touch more cynical, John McClane, the hard-as-nails detective, is more than just a fictional character, he's the type of person you wish lived next door... just in case!

Watching this movie is like being on the roller-coaster ride from hell... you're tied into your seat within the first 5 minutes, and you're dragged, kicking and screaming, on a maniacal race that won't end until countless cars, helicopters, planes and bridges have been reduced to cinders, and the city of Washington is left in a near-apocalyptic state. The special-effects are superb, the storyline is as solid as it can possibly be considering it is a tad far-fetched, but the dialogue makes up for the improbable plot by being incredibly funny at times.

It's nice to have Bruce Willis back in his role as John McClane, and I am definitely looking forward to another sequel... did I just say that? I really hate sequels, have never come across one that I actually liked... except for the Die Hard ones, which are, in my opinion, always highly entertaining, and although the storylines are more than a bit questionable, it doesn't detract from the fact that they are high-octane fun and you're still smiling when the credits go up.

What more is there to say? Die Hard 4.0 is exactly what you would expect it to be... and much much more!

Summary: This is a sequel that packs a punch... doesn't happen too often!
