Advantages: Fast paced script with plenty of action sequences and camaraderie
Disadvantages: None
I am a long time die hard fan. My favourite film is Die Hard 2 with Die Hard 1 second and Die Hard 3 third. I think that the 3 film was the weakest.
I did not know what to expect of this film. Die Hard 3 was definitely the weakest of the 3 previous films and the one I liked the least. I did not think that they could make another film as good as 1 and 2, but I have to say I was proved wrong. This film is just brilliant, back to the real fast and furious formula of 1 and 2. It has all the elements, Bruce running around in clothes that gradually get more and more damaged, a superbaddie that wants to destory everything and loads of explosions. This film though has one thing extra that makes it uber cool, it has the Warlock, a complete computer supergeek played by Kevin Smith. I enjoyed this film so much I watched it again with my husband the next night.
This time Bruce is trying to outwit Cyber terrorists who want to create a "fire sale" as in everything must go - ie all computer controlled systems are brought to a standstill at the same time, causing mega chaos. Bruce has to escort a young hacker to the FBI headquaters, but by the time he gets him there things have started to detriorate fast. Bruce realises that if he does not act then no-one else is going to save the day - Yippe Ki Yay Mother F****r.
Yes Bruce has aged, but he can still kick ass and anyway it is always a bit more believeable if he is pouring with blood by the end of the film. The special effects are excellent particularly when Bruce brings down a helicopter with his car. The pace of this film is just right, with enough storyline to keep it interesting, but not enough for you to get confused or bored and walk away. I would have to say that this one is just about on a par with Die Hard 2 which puts it up there at the top. This will be one for the collection.
Summary: John Mclane races to stop a computer megolamaniac from wreaking havoc.
