What a night, it will stay with me forever. I never had the good fortune to be in istanbul that night but its a night that i will never forget as a die hard red. The performances in the champions league that season were outstanding, who can forget the final group game against olympiakos when in the 83rd minute steven gerrard scored that great volley to send us into the knockout stage, then the thrashing of bayer leverkusen home and away, and luis garcia's goal against juventus and of course beating jose mourhino's chelsea team to book a place in the final. This is a must buy for Liverpool football supporters following the reds march to Istanbul for one of the most famous Champions League football finals of all time. The dvd boxset consists of two dvd's, the first shows highlights of all of Liverpools qualifying matches on the way to the final, these include victories over Juventus and a very strong Chelsea team, with the famous Luis Garcia goal winning that match. The highlights are well edited and while the commentary is cheesy and over the top, it does build the tension nicely on the way to the famous final. Being a big Liverpool fan I sat down to re-live the greatest comeback in footballing history once more, and was not disappointed by the contents of this 2 disc set. On Disc 1 is AC Milan v Liverpool, two giants of European of European footballing history. Before the match began, Liverpool were big underdogs. This was the way it was all the way throughout the competition. Unfortunately at half time these dreams seemed doomed as Liverpool were outclassed by some outstanding football by their Italian opponents. What a cracking DVD this is. Its a must have for any liverpool fan, to relive what should be one of the most memorable nights of your life! 3-0 to AC Milan at half time the game was lost. Cue 45 minutes of insane football and its back to 3-3. Extra time and pens see Liverpool win their fifth European Cup! What a game!
