Advantages: great storyline and soundtrack

Disadvantages: not as good as the other two

Bilbo Baggins, a hobbit from the shire is proud owner of a ring. However, this is no ordinary ring, this is the one ring, the ring which rules all created by a dark lord in the fires of Mt Doom. The ring preserve's Bilbo's youthfulness. he is 111 in the beginning of the film. However, the dark lord came to know of the reappearance of the ring. he begins to hint it down. Frodo Baggins is given the task of taking the ring away from the shire. He is joined in his task by his gardener Samwise. On route, bilbo is stabbed by one of the dark lord's hunters, he is saved by an elf who takes him to get treatment in rivendale. A fellowship is then formed to carry the ring forward to its destruction in the fires where it was forged.

This is the first of the trilogy of epic films following the fellowship to the final destruction of the ring.

The is a great standalone movie, packed with action and great fun which moments of intense suspense. The score is composed by Howard shore and is fantastic, he really captured the mood of the film which gradually gets darker and darker throughout.

Fantastic film, not as good as the other two however it is nevertheless a great movie.
