In the heart of the mythical and medieval time, it is the story of a despaired combat against the forces of evil, opposing Frodon the hobbit, which inherited of a magic ring from his uncle Bilbo, and Sauron, lord of darkness, whose ring allowed him to slave all the inhabitants of the Earth. No wonder why he wants more than ever repossess what will give him the power to annihilate civilizations. To thwart the plans of Sauron, Frodon creates a community made up of hobbits, humans, of a dwarf and of an Elf. Their mission consists in destroying the jewel in the fire where it was first forged, a volcano located deeply in the kingdom of darkness, and that without succumbing to the corrupting capacity of the ring.
A tale full of magic.

The cinematographic adaptation of the book the Lord Of The Rings of Tolkien has seen the light in cinema rooms. The Community of the Ring is the first episode of this trilogy, which will have cost not less than 270 million dollars to the production company New Line.

Many critics of the LOTR flood us today. It was the subject of a wild advertising campaign whereas this one did not hesitate to qualify the production as a real piece of art and this before the completion of the film. It is said that in the history of publicity: The Lord Of The Rings is condemned to become a classic in the Hollywood repertory.

Faithful to the spirit of the novel of Tolkien, the film does not leave the readers in appetite. The majority of the scenes imagined by Tolkien are there, justifying this trilogy, which should be of an 8 hours total duration. The adaptation of the first book is right, honest in its approach and close to the original idea.
It gives itself space for exploiting the characters well and bringing them a small glare, which justifies the unit. The impeccable distribution of the film has undoubtedly contributed a lot to its success. The remarkable interpretations of Sir Ian McKellen (Gandalf), Sean Bea
n (Boromir), Elijah Wood (Frodon), Ian Holm (Bilbon) and John Rhys-Davies (Grimli) are simply tasty. Viggo Mortensen (Aragorn) is without any doubt the hero that everyone was awaiting for. He ensures with brilliance the romantic part of film.

The scenes of battles required 26 660 observers and 50 000 different accessories. The battles are truly magnificent and superb. You will ask simply for more. Some of the accessories could well have been replaced by computer creations. But Jackson didn’t go in this direction. He offers us « La Crème de la Crème ». A feast for amateurs of spectacles filled with great artefacts.
The dimensional effects (to make sure that the hobbits are realistic) are worked to a tight precision. An initial work, which required a beautiful orchestration from the craftsmen. It is a gallery of paintings of another world slowly opening in front of us. Each scene is a coloured fabric, and meticulously dressed with elegant shades.

I am not surprised to hear that the film was expecting a phenomenal success because it deserves it from start to finish. And it was more than wise for Georges Lucas to hold off a year before releasing the second episode of Star Wars.

I only wish the cinema seats were to its level of perfection….

A decent op, we have a wealth of fantasy/sci-fi epics at the moment what with Harry Potter and Star Wars-which is great!
