This film sucks! YAWN!!!!!!!! i think having my face chewed at by retarded slugs would be more fun! Who wants to watch a bunch of dwarfs running around cos theyre worried about someone takin a small piece of jewellery, which may as well have come out of one of those 20p machines next to corner-shops! And whats with the gay elf, the dwarf who ... Read the complete review

well worth the hype; a visually amazing film, and fabulously adapted. - Advantages: beautifully created visual landscapes, almost exactly as i imagined from the book, and sometimes more., characters mostly true to book; actors well cast., near-perfect soundtrack. - Disadvantages: those who have read the books might be disappointed that the film played down certain things, but just small details for the pedants among us.

I loved this film so much it brought out the true "Elf" in me! Aside the fact that its based on the amazingly complex and rather hefty book by Tolkien this film caters really for all ages. The scenery is breathtaking as is the music-you really feel like you have become one of them! I went with a clear mind as i had never got round ... Read the complete review

When was it that Peter Jackson's Lord of the Rings trilogy changed from being a hideous mistake of Titanic proportions (Americans as hobbits? Sean Connery as Gandalf?) into the most eagerly-anticipated film anywhere ever? Everyone has their own answer to this question, but I recall distinctly the moment when I started looking forward to the ... Read the complete review

Lord of the Rings, fellowship of the rings, was an excellent movie with lots of action. The movie was not one of those movies that you have to read another book to understand. Everything that happenend before the movie was presented at the start as sort of a prologue. I think that this movie is a must see if you like action. The special ... Read the complete review

Ever since I watched Lord of the Rings it has become my favourite movie ever. It seemed to have everything in it, thrills, chills, laughs, romance and tears and I thought it was a lovely fantasy film with a great assortment of wonderful characters, beautiful scenery (It was filmed in NewZealand) and was directed by the talented Peter Jackson. Lord of the Rings: the fellowship of the ring, extremely long title matches an extremely long film all of 3 hours worth. By now, there wont be many people who have not yet seen it. The question being, is it really worth sitting there for 3 whole hours while your backside slowly goes numb to see. The answer: Absolutely ... Read the complete review

Here we have it- the best movie of all time. Words cannot describe how great this movie is. But I warn you, if you go to see this movie without reading the books, you might be a little confused. I read the book, so the movie was very enjoyable. But I know some people who did not read the book and didn't like the movie. You have to have a ... Read the complete review

I remember that as a fifteen year I had not read The Lord of the Rings and it had always been one those things I had wanted to do. When I did read the series starting with The Hobbit, I was captivated and really enjoyed Tolkein's masterpiece. You can then imagine my joy when a year later the film was announced but it was to be a further two ... Read the complete review

This is a movie who´s a must for all Tolkien fans around the world, the details of the sets, and the carachters, are extremely faithfull to the book. If you get into the details you can reach the conclusion that this is a thorough adaptation of the novel. Besides it´s a great movie, with a great script, based in a great story. Very good, and ... Well it was long, I'll give it that, and painful, my bum get's quite numb after 3 hrs of sitting on, especially on uncomfortable cinema chairs! Anyway about the film! It was great, I can't wait for the rest, but i'll take a cushion next time! The story line had to be good, as it was written by a great author, and depicts the life ... Read the complete review

I must admit that I didn't know what to expect from Lord of the Rings when I sat in the cinema waiting for the curtains to peel back. I approached it with a certain amount of trepidation as director Peter Jackson's previous efforts had included the bizarre Gore fest "Brain Dead" and the bizarro alien flick "Bad Taste". ... I know this opinion will be a bit dated now as I haven't been on Dooyoo for months. Anyway, I went to see this movie at the cinema and after two failed attempts due to sell-outs, I finally got in. I've never been a huge Hobbit or Lord of The Rings fan but this film has got me hooked and I can't wait until the next installment ... Read the complete review

Forget about whether it's true to the book, it's close enough not to worry about, this is an epoch making film. Its 13 Oscar nominations say it all. In particular, the use of special effects in The Fellowship of the Ring is as distinct a landmark as the first sound or colour movie. Where they need to be seamless, they are ... This is an action adventure take on Lord of the Rings. My bias, I've read the book a few times, but am in no way a fanatic. What's right with the film; the star of the film is the scenery, New Zealand looks fantastic, and has been expertly film. Some of the cast put in good performances, namely Sean Bean, Ian Mackellar ... Read the complete review
