I know that Lost has had some mixed reviews during the course of the first three seasons and, although I have been an avid fan from the very first episode, even I will admit that series three was a little slow. The storyline seemed to waver and there was more that one episode that seemed little more than a 'filler' to make up the numbers (though, of course, with Lost you never know what may become important later on). Still I was without my usual eagerness when I finally had the box set of season 4 in my hands at Christmas and it was several weeks before I finally unwrapped it and started watching. I was gripped from the start! Now, for those not in the know, ... Read the complete review

Lost is a rather off the wall and unusual award winning American television series, about the survivors of a flight, to America from Australia, that has crashed and is officially missing, and the strange place where these survivors find themselves. Despite the number of Lost programmes already shown these people have only been on the Island a relatively short while, but so much has happened. Lost has been very successful in America, and around the world, and I guess has somewhat of a cult following now. Oh I love Lost, and I can't believe I have to wait all the way to January for the next series; I will have to console myself with the older ones. Lost season 3 was criticised for its slow pace, and even the writers admitted they were having trouble keeping it going. With that backdrop, the pressure was on to make season 4 phenomenal, and they did an amazing job. It's not really a spoiler to tell you that there are some new techniques used in this series, the best of which is flashforwards. That's right, we get to see into the future! If you remember, series 3 saw a mysterious freighter come to the island, supposedly there to rescue ... Read the complete review

Lost is, in my opinion, the greatest television show of all time. The fourth season surpasses all the others in terms of quality and plot development so you can imagine that this review is going to be particularly enthusiastic about the DVD! In case you're not familiar with Lost then... well, you REALLY don't want to start watching the fourth season. Lost isn't the type of show you can just watch random episodes of, like Friends or something. You NEED to know the background of the characters to appreciate the magnitude of some of the twists and turns. Sure, each episode is beautifully crafted amongst the idyllic Hawaiian islands and each episode has its own ... Read the complete review

With Season 3's shocking fastforward reveal we find out that at least Jack and Kate have made it off of the island! How have they managed that? Who else is off the island? Why does Jack want to go back?! Season 3 answers all these questions and more as we find out what is about to happen now that help is finally coming to the island, is it help? or is it something more cunning and ruthless than the survivors could ever imagine? This season we get a mixture of flashbacks and flashforwards that answers and raises many questions. the issue of Jacob and his mysterious cabin is revisited but unfortunately not totally explained, this will be one of the last questions answered ...
