Advantages: Funny, entertaining, great script and cast, the penguins were really cute
Disadvantages: The first film was better than this one
Im a bit of a big kid at heart and love watching childish cartoons and animated films. I had seen the first Madagascar film in the cinema in 2005 and really enjoyed it.
When i heard that there was a second film coming out, i couldnt wait to go and see it as i was expecting it to be brilliant.
If you have never seen Madagascar Escape to Africa, it is an animated chidrens comedy film and came to our screens in 2008.
It is the sequel to the 2005 film and the total running time is 89 minutes. It was directed by Eric Darnell and Tim McGrath.
The film has an amazing cast of voice overs including Ben Stiller, Chris Rock, Sacha Baron Cohen and David Schwimmer.
I enjoy listening to the different famous voices in the film speaking as animals and think its funny to see which animal is put with each voice. It really brings the film to life.
The story centres around the adventures of Marty the Zebra, Alex the Lion, Glorio the Hippo and Melman the Giraffe. In this film, the animals are on a plane trying to fly back to their zoo in New York.
There are some mishaps and the plane crash lands in the wild in Africa. The animals soon start to think that life in Africa is better than in the zoo as they can run free and be with their own kind of animals.
My favourite characters in the film were the penguins who kept trying to fix the plane through most of the film. They were so funny and never failed to make me laugh once!
I enjoyed the film and think that adults will probably enjoy it as much as kids. For me, i think the first Madagascar film was better as it was a lot funnier and more unusual.
I still liked this film though and thought that it had a great script, cast and was very well thought out by the writers.
I would recommend buying this film for your kids if they havent got it as all the kids i know have loved the film. You can buy it for just £4.98 at the moment from Amazon which is a great price!
Summary: Watch it
