Magical Shopping Arcade Abenobashi is a madcap anime series as silly and charming as it's name. It has more of a plot, and more emotional background than other similar series, but is filled with silly jokes, slapstick and references lampooning moments from other well known movies and anime series. The plot follows two 12 year old children, Arumi (a level headed, calm girl) and Sasshi (a geeky, crude and childish boy who is nevertheless the centre of much of the show's humour); close friends on the brink of being seperated by the impending demolishion of the shopping arcade that houses the businesses owned by their respective families.
