Advantages: amusing, family film, can be enjoyed by all

Disadvantages: dissapointing plot line

'Mamma Mia' is a film based on a play of the same name. Before watching the film I had not watched the play, yet I found the film both amusing and disappointing. The film is a story of a girl and her mother. The having never met her father wishes to met him the weekend of her wedding, after reading her mothers diary she finds out her father is one of three men and invites all three to her wedding, in the hope of finding her true father. The mother is a hard working woman struggling with money and her independence, she is shocked to find three ex's at her hotel the weekend of her daughters wedding. The film is highly amusing, and is loved by people all ages; my younger sister found it enjoyable as did my grandmother, as did my boyfriend. However, as amusing as it is, I found the plot line frustrating and disappointing. The ABBA songs are cleverly fit into the plotline, and not once did I feel a song was forced, but all fit perfectly with the story.

Summary: fun film, but don't have high expectations
