Just lately I have been watching a lot of movies and I had received great feedback on the film, Marley & Me. As a rule I don't think I would have watched this, however being a dog lover and having heard so many good reviews, I just had to see what was just so great about this film.

One of the opening lines to Marley & Me was that Marley was the World's Worst Dog so I instantly knew that this film was going to be packed full of laughs, as I have a dog myself that is a little bit of a handful and couldn't think there could be another dog worse than him, but I am sure they are.

John and Jenny Grogan have just got married. Both of them are extremely ambitious and have good jobs in the media industry. Not quite ready for a baby, John decides to surprise his new wife with a puppy for her birthday. When they go to pick the puppy, they see Marley who is actually the runt of the litter and is offered to them at a reduced price. Looking at this adorable puppy, Jenny can't help herself but to choose him. They had 3 weeks to prepare before there new addition to the family was allowed to go home with them.

Marley obtained his name on his trip to his new home after getting excited in the car when Bob Marley was on the radio, Bob didn't quite suit, but Marley did and he liked it too. It wasn't long before Marley started to cause trouble, not long at all.

The story follows Jenny and John throughout there lives with Marley and as John is given a job as a columnist at his paper, he soon find that his column is purely about his relationship with Marley and is an account of what antics the dog manages to get up to. The success of the column with the readership increasing, Marley soon becomes well known to many households, however they don't actually know that this is an actual life account.

JOhn and Jenny have three children later in life and Marley still continues to be his old self and doesn't calm down, causing mischief wherever he goes.

The story shows the loyalty of a dog to its owners and the love that is given from the owners to the dog, for any dog lover it is a must to be watched. Jennifer Anniston and Owen Wilson play great roles and Jenny and John, hats off to them, however Marley who must have been played by many dogs as he gets bigger and older is the star of the show.

What got me with this particular film is that Marley reminded me of my own dog a little and the things that he got up to, most certainly during Sandy's life, he has completed 75% of them, drinking out the toilet, humping peoples legs and trying to get out of the car when it is moving, so it made it a little more emotional for me to watch.

If you haven't seen it already and are a dog lover, take the opportunity and watch it because you will be sure to enjoy it as much as I did.
