Advantages: Marley, characters

Disadvantages: Not as good as Marley and Me

I enjoyed Marley and Me so when I saw a prequel had been released I thought that I would like to see it. It is currently showing on Sky so I decided to record it and watch it when I had time which was this morning! This is a film only review.

==Plot==
Bodi lives with his mum. He is desperate for a puppy but she is a very busy career woman and says that Bodi cannot have a dog until he can prove to her that he is mature enough and responsible enough to look after it.

Over the summer, Bodi has to go and stay with his Grandad but, luckily for Bodi he also has an additional travelling buddy - Marley. Marley is his Mums friends puppy and as they are away on holiday they have asked Bodi if he would be able to look after him.

Grandad isn't especially fond of dogs and Marley is a bit of a handful! Bodi can see how much trouble Marley is being so he sets himself a challenge - if he manages to train Marley by the time he leaves his Grandad's, he should be allowed a puppy. He ran this past his mum and she agreed, however she wasn't actually listening at the time!

==Opinion==
I had fairly high expectations of this film because I had enjoyed Marley and Me so much. I thought the plot had a good objective and I enjoyed watching Bodi trying to train Marley. I think this film is much more 'family viewing' than Marley and Me. This is because it is much more lighthearted and there are no sad bits. There is a lot of dog talking which makes it quite funny. The acting in the film was good and I didn't see any problems.

I really liked the character of Bodi because he was outgoing and determined. He spent a lot of time training Marley which proved how much he really wanted a dog and for a young actor, I thought that Travis Turner was brilliant.

I liked the plot and thought it flowed well, there were a couple of clear objectives but the film wasn't particularly predictable because something happened that I wasn't expecting and there were also a few hiccups along the way. The ending was good and I didn't know exactly what would happen until it did.

Overall I did enjoy this film but prefer Marley and Me. The only reasons are because I found this much more of a family view with the talking dogs etc and I also liked the cast members in Marley and Me a lot.

==Summary==

Summary: Worth a watch
