Mean Girls is the ultimate sleepover movie, seriously!
Whenever my friends and I get together for a girly night in, we grab some ice-cream, some popcorn and put on this DVD. I've seen it over and over again, yet I still love it.
Mean Girls is such an amazing movie because it's a real depiction of the teenage years. As a teenager, you're defined by your clique, friends and the company you keep, and this film is just a true illustration of how school life is, or how mine was at least.
I love Mean Girls because it takes those stressful teenage years and just adds plain humour. Personally, i think Lindsay Lohans acting is great in this film. She plays the main character, Cady Heron, and she really makes the character her own. Despite all the bad publicity she's recieved recently, i'm still a huge fan, and think she's an inspiration. The plastic, Regina George, played by Rachel McAdams is also an excellent character.
Mean Girls also has Lacey Chabert who plays a mean girl Gretchen, Amanda Seyfried as the other mean girl Karen, Lizzy Caplan as Janis Ian, Daniel Franzese as Damien, Jonathan Bennet as Aaron Samuels, Tim Meadows as Principal Duval and finally, Tina Fey as Ms. Norbury.
The film begins with an introduction to Cady. Recently returned to America from Africa, she is going to high school for the very first time and leaving her homeschooled days behind. In school, she becomes friends with Janice, with a wig made of her 'mums chest hair' and Damien who is 'too gay to function'. Cady becomes friends with this mischevious duo, and after being invited to hang-out with the Plastics, they decide to sabotage the Plastics. They swap footcream for facecream, ruin relationships, give out weight gaining bars and the list goes on. However, Cady, confused and insecure in her new enviorment, becomes a little too Plastic, and becomes the mean girl that she once disliked. The story line is easy to understand and keep up with and is really a feel good movie.
''..and i wish i could bake a cake out of rainbows and smiles and we could all be happy''
''she doesn't even go here!''
The movie is packed with drama, humour and great acting. It's a film that is perfect for a girly night or even to watch yourself. It's guarenteed to have you chuckling and leaving you feeling good at the end. It's unpredicatable and dramatic, you'll love it!
I honestly love this film so much, i could watch it over and over, and never get bored. I really do recommend this film for anyone who loves a light-hearted and fun movie!
Thanks for reading!
