Advantages: Puppets!, Very original, Hilarious if you are slightly twisted like me

Disadvantages: Songs are a bit bland

Meet the Feebles is one of those highly original films you don't come across all too often, all the characters are puppets! The plot is pretty simple, there is a show on television titled "The Feebles Variety Hour", the cast and crew for the show are planning for an upcoming live show with the hopes that it will boost the show's popularity. During this time there is tension between the producer, a drug dealing walrus, and one of the stars of the show, a slightly overweight pink hippo. Apparently there used to be some relationship between the two that has deteriorated, now the walrus prefers a slim petite pussycat rather than hippo.

Other things are going on around the set, there is a fly who is a reporter gathering dirt on the show and cast for the local newspaper he works for. There is a chain-smoking rat who films kinky pornography in the basement of the theatre. That same rat is also holding back heroin from a knife throwing, junkie, vietnam veteran frog who is low on cash. There is a new member of the Feebles crew, some sort of hedgehog - he's shy and retarded over a poodle who is part of the show. This movie is a trip, it's no wonder why many places have referred to it as The Muppets Show on some sort of drug.

During this film there are a couple of choice scenes that stick with me, my favourite being the junkie frog's vietnam flashbacks, it's hilarious and had me rolling. The flashback isn't short either, it's at least a couple minutes long. At the end of the film the director of The Feebles Variety Hour sings a song about sodomy, it's very in depth. There are some slow points in this film, mainly the feebles songs which seem a bit bland and far too drawn out, other than that things keep a steady pace. This movie also has it's share of puppet gore, oozing VD sores, and a frog in the throws of withdrawal, you can't find that in many movies.

Considering how readily available an
d cheap this film is (less than £5) there is no reason you shouldn't give it a chance, it's good stuff.

Thanks, Malu. Well, it's like the old saying: If you don't take the time to learn from your mistakes, you're bound to repeat them. And where would that get us? :)
