Advantages: Really funny, entertaining, lots of laughs, great cast and script
Disadvantages: None
I am a big fan of Ben Stiller and love all of the films that i have seen him in as they have all been really funny. As soon as i saw the trailer for this film, i knew i had to go and see it as it looked hilarious.
If you have never seen Meet The Parents, it is an American comedy film that hit our screens in 2000. The film has a brilliant cast alongside Ben Stiller including Robert De Niro, Owen Wilson and Teri Polo.
The films running time is 108 minutes long. It was also partly produced by Robert De Niro too which was good as i think hes a really talented actor.
The story centres around character Greg who is a male nurse from Chicago. He is with long term girlfriend Pam and loves her a lot so plans to propose to her. She works as a schoolteacher in a primary school.
Pams sister Debbie is however getting married and Greg and Pam go home to Pams parents house for the weekend before the wedding.
Greg hopes to make an impression and ask Pams father for his daughters hand in marriage. Will things go smoothly with Pams parents and will he ever get the chance to propose to her?
I wont give away too much more of the storyline incase i ruin it for you but i have to admit that i really enjoyed this film.
It was funny right from the start through to the end and never failed to make me laugh.
Ben Stiller and Robert De Niros acting were amazing, their on screen presence and chemistry was brilliant and all the characters were genuine and believeable.
I really felt for the character Greg as so many embarassing things happened to him that were really cringeworthy!
I feel so bad for him and could relate as i have had a few embarrassing things happen to me myself!
You can buy the dvd of Meet the Parents for just £4.47 from Amazon at the moment which is a really good price. I remember paying around £15 for it in HMV so this is a bargain.
Summary: Watch it!
