Meet the parents sadly is an over hyped movie that if I had the choice I wouldn't go and see again.

StoryLine:
Ben Stiller plays a male nurse who is about to propose to his girlfriend. He is about to pop the question when his girlfriend tells that her sister's getting married and that her boyfriend asked thier father(De Niro) for permission, this is what he decides he has to do as well.

The movie then follows the disasterous consequences of Stiller trying to get liked by her father and ruining the sisters wedding in the midst of it all.

There are some good parts and some bits are really funny, but for my taste the film is let down because due to a number of reasons.

1)The film is far too long for a comedy, this spreads the laughs out too much, and often leaves gaps within the movie were nothing really happens.

2)Sadly what jokes that are in the movie are predictable and can be seen coming a mile of. The story line also relies too much on the Gay Lord Foker joke far too much, its starts to get a little boring by the time the movie ends.

3)I really like a lot of Robert De Niro's films but sadly, this is not one of his better performances and he should really try and keep away from this kind of comedy movie.
