Advantages: fast-paced, dramatic and comic

Disadvantages: not in all cinemas

Momento is a fantastic film. The plot seems at first somewhat implausable: a man has lost the ability to make new memories, and he loses all of his new memories every 15 minutes. But it works. It is a film which really pulls you into it.

The style is fragmented, as the director jumps around in time, very reminicent of pulp fictions's style. But here overlaps are always made, and it does not leave the viewer confused but with increasing clarity of the situation.

However, when the film ends, the final outcome is left a little in the air. Without going into details that may ruin the plot, it is one of those films which will leave you wondering and coming back to it days afterwards.

An added bonus is a very toned and fit Guy Pierce playing the lead role. He takes on the ambiguous personality of Leonard well, and leaves us lacking in sympathy for the man who is made out to be the victim of the film.

I would thoroughly recommend this film, I know that I intend with hindsight to watch it once more.
