Most people have a favorite genre when it comes to watching videos but I’m just as content watching a full blown weepie as a low budget horror so it’s hard to put into any bracket exactly what makes a good film for me. Message in a bottle is undoubtedly one of the aforementioned weepies so much so that even in my pre-hormonal phase I needed an entire lorry load of kleenex to watch it. This movie first appealed to me, because as a child I was always fascinated by messages in bottles, I remember hearing on the news about a young boy in England who had found a bottle with a message in it while walking along the shore - it was from another young boy in France. A few months ago, while channel hopping I saw that ?Message in A Bottle? was about to start, and while I have never before felt the urge to watch it, tonight was different. I wanted to relax and be entertained, which is a novelty for me nowadays. The film is based on the novel by Nicholas Spark, and has transferred very well to the big screen.
