Dirty Sexy Money 'Michael Clayton' is this year's big award night, token medium budget movie with a conscious... "The Intelligent Thriller", the one that garners momentum because it has enjoyed sharp lobbying with all the right backing and casting to get it noticed, but a very average movie under the glitzy wrapping paper. (Review is reproduced from ShaunMunro.co.uk, cheers!) Director: Tony Gilroy Cast: George Clooney, Sydney Pollack, Tilda Swinton, Tom Wilkinson Release Date: September 28th, 2007 (UK), October 5th, 2007 [limited] (US) Certificate: R (US), 15 (UK) NOTE: Michael Clayton was the recipient of one Oscar last night at the Academy Awards; Tilda Swinton won for "Best Actress in a Supporting Role". Great, I thought, so it's going to be like a John Grisham adaptation with a healthy mix of Al Pacino from The Devil's Advocate thrown in, right? Wrong! Read on..... The Plot The film opens with a voiceover from Tom Wilkinson's character Arthur Edens, meeting with Michael following Edens' apparent mental breakdown. Then we see a poker game, from which Clayton leaves to 'fix' a ...
