Michael McIntyre seems to be one of the biggest names in comedy at the moment. He seems to be doing what Peter Kay did about 8 years ago. This is his DVD, 'Live and laughing', and after watching it recently I decided it was worthy of a review.

If you have never seen this comedian before, he is quite a simple stand up act. He is 33 years old, was born in London and sounds rather posh. His comedy is quite simple, taking everyday thigs that we are all familiar with and making them funny.

I really enjoyed this DVD. Have seen clips of the comedian before but never watched all his show. I love the section of the show where he talks about his 'man draw'. This is something so simple that he turns into something so funny, and its something that is very easy to relate to.

His comedy is not to offensive which I like. There are a few crude moments and some strong language, but he does not flood his show with sick jokes and foul language, I think this is a nice change and makes the show all the better.

Another of the skethes that I love is the bit he does about disabled parking. He actually brought me to tears in this section of his show, I wa just laughing so hard, and this is not something that happens very often when I watch comedy.

The DVD itself is rated 15. There is some strong langauge but not as much as you get with most modern day comedians. Also some sexual references, but again nothing to serious overall. The DVD runs for 84 minutes and the time flys by, I felt like he had not really been on for very long, but that was only because I enjoyed the show so much.

Anyone who enjoys comedy I am sure will enjoy watching this DVD. It really is one of the best I have seen for a long time, don't think it quite gets up to the standard of Peter Kay but its not far off. If Mcintyre can continue to produce comedy at this level for the next few years, I am sure he will be around on our TV's for a very long time.
