Advantages: Great if you've already seen the episode many time over
Disadvantages: Leaves you wanting more
For the price you pay you get more than your money's worth for this DVD. Normally I get excited about the extras on DVDs only to end up being bitterly disappointed. You will be anything but with this generous collection of out takes, documentaries and quirky moments from the masters of the crimp, The Mighty Boosh.
Feeling that they exhausted the zoo, Julian and Noel switched the location to their flat. This is a brave but brilliant move on the two as it has opened up the series in a way forward to keep it fresh, funny an exciting. The music takes more of a centre stage, the surrealness of the plot lines and special effects adds to the world of the Boosh as we are now more familiar with them, so they can take liberties with out sense of fun and affection. One of the most amazing stories of all the series has to be The Ballad of Milky Joe. Not only is this story ridiculous, hilarious and downright crazy, it is also amazingly written and ties up at the end the and episode of Inspector Morse could never achieve.
But it is the extras that make the DVD with a Boosh purchase. Chances are you already love them and rather than simpy rip off the fans, they give the fans what they want.
The first gem on this DVD is the original pilot episode that was reworked and had bit re-filmed that ended up being the Tundra episode from series one.
The second gem is the short movie Sweet, which isn't written by them, but shows that their personalities as a double act were so strong they inspired a short movie that is worthy of the Boosh episodes themselves. It was filmed before they did the TV series and is worth watching more than once.
Another packed and brilliant DVD from the Boosh and well worth the money.
Summary: The Boosh do it again
