Advantages: Its a good story

Disadvantages: Long and miscast

Being a big fan of the musical Les Miserables, I was drawn towards this film.

I forced my partner to watch this film at the cinema, and there were only 6 people in the room with us!

However I did enjoy this film, I love the story, Prison convict done good, but found the main roles miscast, I came to enjoy Liam Neilsons portrayal of Val Jean although I was dubious at first, but did not like Clare Danes Cosette or the actor they choose to play Marius. Javert however was played very well.

Not really for the faint hearted - this film lasts about 2.5 hours and is a gentle story.

My advice is to enjoy the musical first, then you will get to know the story and love it as I do.
