Advantages: Fantastic all round
Disadvantages: none
Miss pettigrew lives for a day is an adult fairytale abut a homeless nanny who finds the right path.
Francis Mcdormand Starts as Guinevere pettigrew an unemplyed and penniless nanny in the early 1930's who goes to a job not of her profession. She has been tasked to become a PA to the lovely Amy adams who plays Delysia lafosse. A singer who breathes life into everyone she is around. Stunning and demanding women with three lovers on the go. Miss petigrew learns that she has found her place and makes sense of her life. The Chemistry between the two leads is engaging and the lives soon resemble each other somewhat when miss pettigrew gets involved with two men of her own.
The movie works as a light hearted affair with the buddy movie but also works with moments of serious situatons. The actresses put a spell on you from start to finish and their connection is believable despite the diffrent personalities.
Francis mcdormand is remarkable in her role, portraying a sence of loneliness and desperation at times but eventually finds love and contentness.
Amy Adams as usuall is a breath of fresh air and embodies Delysia's personality perfectly.
