Advantages: exceptional soundtrack,tom cruises stunts are impressive, great action throughout

Disadvantages: cheesey cliche storyline,blatant plot holes,a "seen this seen that" feel.

Mission impossible 2, the film which critics believe to be the worst of the 3, in partly.. i agree, in other ways i strongly dissagree.
Tom cruise is back with a new look in the sequel to MI:1, with his shoulder length hair and john woo on the set as a director, no matter what the story was you just knew the action in this film was going to be pretty badass.. and it certiantly was.

One thing i was dissapointed with was mission impossible 2's story, with the blatant plotholes and the cheesiness and cliche about the story, not just in the storyline either, the actors and script displayed a fine block of cheddar throughout, its a location here get here do this, stop deadly weapon from destroying the world ect ect.


However once you get to the action it's where this film gets it's 4 star rating from in truth, the stunts performed by tom cruise himself were exceptional from a guy you just never see doing martial arts in films, the final 40 minutes of the film which i wont spoil are just pure and utter badass, flames and a dove with awesome music anyone?? (people who have watched it will get that)
You can clearly see john woo's mark on this film, the slow motion effects and the stunts with nice gunplay it comes to you straight away that it's quite blatant that john woo had some involvement in this, which i personally thought he did well in adding his personal trademark touches to the film.

The music score in this film is unbelievable, peroid. Hans zimmer's is just a absolute genius, there is no other way of putting it, the injection scene is one of the most powerful scenes i have ever seen in my film viewing life and the final fight at the end coupled by Mr cruises quite impressive stunts is just done so incredibly with the music, wherever you think this film is below average or not, the musical score by Hans is incredible.

If you like tom and like mission impossible then i reccomend this, if you just like action movie's then i still reccomend it for the musical score and action alone.

Summary: Despite the average story i still reccomend this for the soundtrack and action that is in the film.
