Mission: better the original. Doesn't quite, but still good fun (Mission Impossible 2 (DVD))

Advantages: Fast Paced, Excellent Action Scenes. Decent Plot. Lots Of Extras.

Disadvantages: No unexpected twists. Not the smartest film you'll ever see.

Mission: Impossible 2 sees Tom Cruise reprise his role from this first film as Agent Ethan Hunt of the Impossible Missions Force.

Agent Hunt is sent to recruit an expert thief Nyah Hall (Thandie Newton) to help him catch renegade IMF agent Sean Ambrose (Dougray Scott) who is planning on releasing a deadly virus on the public. After succesfully recruiting the thief, she is captured by the ex IMF agent. The film sees Hunt trying to recover her & stop Ambrose from exposing the virus to the populas.

The DVD comes with lots of extras. "Behind the Mission" exclusive featurette with cast & crew interviews. Stunts featurette. Commentary by Director John Woo. I Dissapear Metallica Music Video. "Mission Improbable" an M:I-2 inspired parody from the MTV music awards.

I thought this was a good sequel to the original film. I would say that it is probably more action packed than the original. There is a big build up to a mission that they have to complete as there is in the original although I think the pay off the the scene in this one isn't quite as good.

The plot is OK. It serves it's purpose & it isn't that far fetched for a high octane action film but it hasn't really got any unexpected twitst that you didn't see coming. A great action film, but don't expect much else from it.

Summary: A great action film that won't dissapoint if you know what to expect.
