When it comes to unusual movies, in the world of horror they don't come much more unusual than this. This fantastically compelling and emotional tale by horror legend George Romero, takes you on a rollercoaster of emotions as this tale moves from a drama to a romance, and then kicks you in the head with a shocking and horrific end. Allan Mann (Jason Beghe) is a disabled man, and he is preparing to return to his home for the first time since the accident that ruined his life. Stuck with an inherently daft premise (a psychic monkey), this superb little film confirms George A. Romero's gifts as a hugely talented horror film maker. A world away from the zombie hordes, this is the story of a runner crippled by a road accident, and given a trained capuchin monkey, Ella, to act as his guardian. The only problem is that his wired scientist friend decides to use Ella as a guinea pig for his latest experiment, and she soon starts to act out all of the crippled hero's resentments with violent and deadly results.
