It’s an age old question that has plagued man even since they crawled out of the ooze; how do you introduce kids to the horror genre? We know that their minds are very impressionable during their development; to the point were some children are scared to watch Paul Daniels (and rightly so). Do you go the route I did and watch something like ‘Nightmare on Elmstreet’ or ‘Critters’ before you are ten? I survived, but it’s given me an obscure taste in film! I purchased Monster House last Christmas for my 5 year old nephew. For some reason my sister and I decided maybe we should watch it first as he can have quite an active imagination and we didn't want it to scare him. Monster House has to be one of the strangest films I've seen in a long time. It's a computer animated film produced by Spielberg, although I was very surprised when I realised he was one of the producers because it was nowhere near up to his standard. Synopsis ******* DJ lives directly across from a house which has a very nasty occupant; Mr Nebbercracker hates children and will confiscate any toy that should accidently stray onto his lawn. The atmosphere from the house is so bad, even plants and trees won't grow there.
