Advantages: Entertains the kids!, Entertains the adults too!

Disadvantages: Cinema prices

I heard some mediocre reviews about this film but my daughter really wanted to see it for her 4th birthday. Trust a kid to always be right. We were laughing before the titles even started. There is plenty of fun for children and more than enough mature humour to keep the 'young at heart' adults happy. As usual with Pixar films, don't make the mistake of leaving the cinema as soon as the film finishes. The out-take sequences are great and I was still humming parts of the 'musical' on the way back to the car (you'll understand what I mean if you watch it).
The story is set in Monstropolis; a city where monsters live. Like all cities, they need energy and there is a fuel crisis on. The fuel in question happens to be the screams of frightened young children. In steps a company called Monsters Inc. whose employees have to collect these screams. To do this they open a doorways (and I mean that literally) into the human realm, or to be more specific into children's wardrobes. This explains all of those creatures that used to lurk in my cupboards as a child!
It is a dangerous job since the touch of a human child is rumoured to kill monsters. The antics start when Monster Inc's employee of the month (a large furry blue beast called Sully)discovers that a small child has escaped into the Monster realm. To make matters worse, she's cute and friendly...
Overall, it is superb, action packed, fun and it would be a shame if you didn't take your children along for your sake. If you don't have kids, borrow some!

Sorry to have to give you only a "somewhat useful" rating, what with this being your very first opinion here at dooyoo.
The previous comments have said it for me. You write well, but you simply haven't included enough detail about the film to allow me to rate your opinion any higher.
Have a wee look at some other film opinions to give you a better idea of what people like to read here at the site.

Oh, and a big welcome to dooyoo. I'm sure you'll soon get the hang of things.

Ken :)
