This is the second best Monty Python movie, people just getting into their stuff should begin with the Life Of Brian which is far superior to this. The Holy Grail is still a good movie but you really need to be in the mood for this one. The humour is the most immature and ridiculous I have seen in a movie supposed to be for young ... note: also appears in part on Flixster and The Student Room I must confess that I find Monty Python very hit and miss - I think that their humour is elitist often, and intellectualised to the point that it may be very eloquently worded, but it's not very funny! My favourite Python film will always be Life of Brian, but Holy Grail is an ... Read the complete review

CLASSIC LINE: "Are you suggesting coconuts migrate?" The pythons have often been described as the Beatles of comedy. You can be 4 years old or 104, you will still grasp the humour. Though, if you are 104, I think you'd be suited more too sitting down on a park bench, feeding pigeons, or maybe an early night tucked up in bed ... Read the complete review

Well, since this review is about one particular Python movie I won't go into how great the original Flying Circus series was, but suffice it to say it was ground breaking. This lead to a successful movie series, of which this was the second. Many Python fans cite Life of Brian as their favourite of the films, but personally the Holy ... Read the complete review

This has to be one of the funniest films ever made and should be in everybodys dvd collection. It is pure python through and through, with appearances from god (as drawn by Terry Gilliam) taunting Frenchmen, knights who say "Ni" and flying cows. It may not be as sophisticated as the Life of Brian but in terms of laughs per minute this ... Read the complete review

This film is, without a doubt, my favouite film of all time. Everything about it appeals to me, the humour, the style of acting and even the credits! It is the funniest DVD i have ever seen and, although i've seen it literally hundreds of times and know what to expect, it never fails to make me laugh out loud. The Python crew are truely a bunch of ... Read the complete review

After recently reviewing Monty Python's The Life of Brian, I thought id give a review on their other great classic, Monty Python and the Holy Grail. Released in 1975 and weighing in with a running time of 98 minutes this film fits in perfectly with their weird and wacky off the wall humour which they have made a success of ever since ... What is the air speed velocity of an un-laden swallow? This is just one of many life changing questions that are answered in this rediculously funny film. Does it make any sense, whatsoever? well, no, but neither does anything that the pythons have done. Written and performed by the pythons way back in 1975, ... Read the complete review

Whenever people discuss the Python films, most put this into second place behind The Life of Brian. Personally, I think that's unfair - it deserves to be seen on the same level as (and at times ahead of) Brian. Holy Grail is just an inspired film, which perfectly captures the lunacy of the Python team at their best. True, it might be ... Read the complete review

An AWESOME film possibly the best of the Python films! featuring all of the pythons including Terry Gilliam, John Cleese, Michael Palin, Eric Idle, Graham Chapman and Terry Jones. In the beggining King Arthur (Graham Chapman) is riding with his servant Patsy, the joke being there is no horse and the sound of horses walking is the sound of ... Read the complete review

Now you know how it is. Sometimes on your way to Camelot, you get a wee bit distracted when God pokes his head out from between some fluffy clouds and asks you to run an errand for him. No? That?s never happened to you before? Oh well, not to worry because that?s exactly what happens to Arthur and his knights in ... Read the complete review

If you're a fan of the more silly comedy films, like things with Leslie Nielsen in them, it's a pretty safe bet that you'd love the Holy Grail. With its epic, a bit, storyline and hilarious occurences it became one of the milestones of comedy films. Even if you're not familiar with the film you may have heard of "the Knights ... ~ ~ The title of this opinion is only one of the many totally hilarious lines from this classic comedy, “Monty Python and The Holy Grail” (1975), from the wacky team of comedians who changed the face of comedy forever back in the 1970’s. I must have only been about 8 or 9 years old when I first saw this film... and I loved it from the start. Of course, at that age I was far too young to understand a lot of the humour; but, the complete insanity of the Python team did not escape me, even in my vulnerable, naive years. Actually I have Michael Palin, John Cleese and the ... Read the complete review
