Rating:

Advantages: musical

Disadvantages: hard to understand

The opening sequence dazzled me at first as its such a surprise and something that I wouldn’t quiet expect. I found it hard to understand the beginning of the film but I found it easier to understand the further the film continued. I would say that the Moulin Rouge is an example of a tragic love story, as Satine falls in love with Christian and has to act and tell him she doesn’t love him for her job and for the simple fact that she has tuberculosis, and doesn’t have long left to live. Moulin Rouge celebrates how popular music can shape our emotions and memories.
I didn’t really enjoy the film the Moulin Rouge as a whole and think the film only classes as a musical in my eyes and I can’t see a much deeper meaning to it.

Summary: i dont think the film is succesful

Hi. I agree with belfin, the whole idea is to be able to let other people know if they might like the product you're reviewing or to talk about opinions in speakers corner. Have a read of some well rated reviews and it will give you a hint on how to proceed. The better known you are, the more likely you are to get reads and reads means both points and a more fullfilling dooyoo experience.

So me hints for this review would be to give a rough summary of the storyline, maybe talk about how Baz Luhrman cleverly used modern songs in a musical context, "smells like teen spirit" was particularly inspired. Talk about how it really catapulted Nicole Kidman into the big money league or how she literally threw herself into the role, breaking a rib in the process. Even mention Kylie's surprise cameo as the Absynthe fairy...

There's loads more you can write and you need to qualify why you do or don't like something! I hope you enjoy and take the criticism as it's meant (I'm not trying to offend only help!)
