Advantages: amusing, brad pitt, angelina jolie

Disadvantages: maybe a little silly for some

** The Movie: **
They meet, they fall in love and they get married. And whilst that could be said about Brad and Angelina in real life (almost), it is also what we see at the beginning of this movie.

Brad Pitt is John Smith and Angelina is his wife Jane. Jane believes that John is an Engineer and John believes that Jane is in IT, and 5 or 6 years later (depending who you ask) the initial magic has gone and they are both going through the motions of staying in a boring, mundane marriage.
The reason behind the boredom is that both of them are living a lie. John is not an Engineer and Jane is not in IT, they are both working as assassins for different organisations and stay within the marriage as a matter of convenience so they can each go and do their jobs and still be home in time for dinner at 7.

Then they both get given the same hit job, which reveals to each other their true identities and then the movie takes on a new twist, they have to take each other out. And this is where we get to the real meat of the film, where the organisation that Jane works for trying to take out John and visa-versa.
Sometimes when you get an action movie (Although the director wouldn't class it as a pure action film) with humour in it, it can be to the detriment of the film, but not in this case. We get all the explosions and high tech gadgets and chases seamlessly sprinkled with humorous lines from both Jolie and Pitt, which makes for a film with tense moments, as well as times when you will find yourself chuckling.

We also see Vince Vaughn (As Eddie) in the movie, He lives with his mum as "she is the only woman he can trust" but he is part of the organisation that Pitt belongs to, and is pivotal to John and Jane in finding out what is really happening around them.
As the film plays out we never really find out which of them are on the good team and which are on the bad team, I personally felt that both groups were pretty mercenary and neither part of anything "official". Although both need to have their wits about them, all the way up to the rather far-fetched ending.

** Picture: **
The colour palette uses slightly brown earthy undertones which work well, the blacks are nice and dark and crisp and the flesh tones look very natural. There was little edge enhancements that I could detect. Editing of the film seemed sharp and there was some splendid camera effects (Cliff Climbing and Angelina jumping from the building). Fans of Brad and Angelina will not be disappointed.

** Sound: **
I watched in DD5.1 although there is a DTS soundtrack on board too. Explosions were loud and bassy and there was good use of the surround speakers, dialogue was clear through the centre, overall I was very pleased with the sound on my setup.

** Extras: **
Making of a scene: I found this quite a refreshing change to the normal backslapping that goes on in these "making of" featurettes. This extra is basically how they shot on of the scenes in the film, also includes a bit of Trivia on when Brad has to improvise some lines, I enjoyed this and thought it pretty interesting at about 7 minutes long it is worth watching

Commentaries: we get 2 commentary tracks.
Commentary One, Director Doug Liman and Screen writer Simon Kinberg: reminding us quite often that they could not afford to travel with the stars and hoe beautiful they are etc, and various backslapping etc, although there a few gems of lines in the commentary

Commentary two, Producsers Akiva Goldsman and Lucas Foster. Again a pretty standard commentary, but with a slightly different take that the directors one.

Deleted scenes: We get 3 deleted scenes, No 2 and 3 I quite enjoyed and wish they had kept them in the movie, there is no commentary explain why they were removed but I suspect running time or one of the other stock reasons would have been used, Enjoyable watching.

Trailers: Contains the theatrical and teaser trailers for the movie. I am still surprised as to why we get trailers for the feature film that we are watching on the same disk, just filler stuff really.

** Overall: **
A good entertaining movie incorporating action, romance and comedy in a fast paced package, all wrapped up with ladies fav Brad and guys fav Angelina. worth adding to your collection if you can get it at a reasonable price.
