Advantages: Rowan Atkinson, doing the best he can with what's given.

Disadvantages: Americanization, leading to the same gags you've already seen.

It's been said before, but I will say it anyway - Bean: The Ultimate Disaster Movie lives up to it's name. That is, it is absolutely atrocious and a complete disaster.

For those who don't know, Mr. Bean was a British character played by Rowan Atkinson. Bean himself is, quite much, a crazy snob. He is self-centered, bigoted, and always attempts to find ways to do things, even if in the most random and unusual ways. However, as snobby as he is, Mr. Bean is incredibly likable, for some of his ingenious ideas and random behavior. A personal favorite skit of Bean's was in the hospital, in which Bean attempts to gain a higher number for count because of his hand being stuck in a teapot.

However, that being said, this movie starring Mr. Bean doesn't FEEL like Mr. Bean for some reason. In the series and shorts, it was always about Bean, but now that it is Americanized, also due to most Americans not being able to stand any sort of silence all the time, we have other actors who get just as much screen time as Atkinson does. I'll be honest, I do like Peter MacNicol ("Vy am I drippings vis goo?" From Ghostbusters), but it's just not right when the presence of these characters make Mr. Bean seem completely stupid. And that's where it hurts, that it's way too American to not let Atkinson fully do what he was given with. Instead, he has to work with less elbow room, decreasing what little control he had.

But, now the actual plot. The plot is that Mr. Bean's supervisors are completely tired of him, so when Whistler's Mother is going to be sent to a building in the United States, they decide to screw the US over by sending their supposed doctor of arts, Mr. Bean.
Bean's housekeeper (Peter MacNicol) is wanting things to go well and, at his pure insistence of himself, fully believes Bean to be an art scholar. Then, everything goes downhill from there.

As for the gags themselves, because it is Americanized, the film is essentially a compilation of some known Mr. Bean gags. There's the turkey, the airbag, and the part where Bean is bored on a supposedly fast ride ( in which he decides to make it go even faster). So, in that sense, it's kinda pointless for Beanies (a Mr. Bean fan) to watch the film when they've already seen what the gags are. Very disappointing indeed.

Overall, I would recommend this movie to only the truly hardcore Beanies because of the movie being the same, but with some humor that is just not funny at all. I personally feel sorry for Rowan Atkinson, who had to endure making this terrible movie.

Don't watch it unless you really think you can laugh.

Summary: Americanizations of foreign movies stink, hence Bean.
