What was that all about! Yes this is a typical reaction after watching a typical David Lynch film and Mulholland drive is no exception, but how does it stand up to his other great films like Blue Velvet or his even better excursion into TV land 'Twin Peaks'? THE PLOT Those of you who are familiar with my film review will know that I don't give away much when it comes to the story but in this case even if I did I don't think you'd be any clearer as to what is going on. The film about two women one Betty a newcomer to ... Read the complete review

David Lynch is one of those film-makers whose work I will always make an effort to go and see. He makes unique, challenging and often disturbing films. His last, The Straight Story, was something of a departure, being a simple, straightforward story. Mulholland Drive, a film that started life as a pilot for a TV series that never got made, and languished for a while until Lynch was offered the funding to turn the pilot into a feature film, is very much back to Lynch's more 'normal' weird and wonderful style. Mulholland Drive is a road in Los Angeles, between the valley and Hollywood. As the film starts, we follow a limousine along the road, with a ... Read the complete review

Well you all know by now that I am a little bit mental and it should come as no shock to you that I love absolutely weird movies. So when I read about a film called Mulholland Drive on the internet, being boasted that it was the oddest film around, I just knew I had to check it out. So of course I went out and bought it and what do you know I loved it so much I watched it twice in a row! The story The film starts off with a dance number. 50s music is playing and many couples are dancing together. Then we meet Rita, a woman who has just been in a car crash and has stumbled into an apartment building confused and disorientated. Betty is a young ... Read the complete review

- MULHOLLAND DRIVE.- Mulholland Drive was released in the UK in 2002. Directed and written by David Lynch. Starring Naomi Watts, Laura Elena Harring, Justin Theroux and Ann Miller. - Genre: Drama/ Mystery/Thriller. - Running Time: 146 Minutes. - BBFC Rating: 15. - As the credits roll we are treated to a display of 50's dancing. There are many couples doing the jitterbug, bunnyhop, and the Jive. This is a lively sequence and all concerned are having a lot of fun. Suddenly a face surges to the fore cloaked in a white mist and she is featured alone and disjointed from all the others. She wavers, and then disappears back through the crowd again. The ... Though director David Lynch is probably best known for the TV series Twin Peaks, I have to confess I've never seen the series, or the resulting film Twin Peaks Fire Walk With Me that was supposed to tie up the loose ends of the movie, so I apologise if I've completely misunderstood his intentions or plot traits! ---- Brief synopsis---- The film opens on an elegantly dressed young woman (Laura Harring) in the back of a car, looking as though she's going to a party, when suddenly, the car stops, the driver in front turns to point a gun at her, while his companion gets out and tells the woman to get out of the car. At this point, two ... Read the complete review
