Muse - Hullabaloo - Live At The Zenith Paris (DVD)

I finally found a brand new copy of the rare gatefold digipack version of the bizarrely titled Hullabaloo and it was well worth the wait! The entire presentation and production of the live footage in keeps with the mad, crazy, and over the top space rock that is Muse, and at the same time, the DVD offers a great look back to the bands first couple of albums. All of the obvious Origin of Symmetry era hits such as the manic New Born and Bliss are included, as well as some early gems all of which work very well in the live environment. Filmed in October 2001, Hullabaloo features Muse's famous performance at Le Zenith in France. The DVD was recorded from footage taken over two nights and merged together to create a concert which without knowing beforehand, feels like one gig on it's own. It's worth noting that there are NO songs from Absolution on this DVD. Absolution was released two years after the filming and the songs are from OOS and Showbiz. Also, look out for the fantastic "Dead Star" and "In Your World" which were released as a double A side. Anyone who has heard of muse will know what their about, they are in a league of their own. I haven?t seen muse live, because I only recently heard of them, but I imagine that actually going to a live muse gig would be far greater than any DVD. This isn?t fault of the muse DVD, it?s just that you can?t capture the essence of a live gig on a DVD; you just don?t feel the atmosphere or the feeling of your hairs on the back of your neck. Only once did I get a small feeling similar to going live and that was at the beginning of 'Citizen Erased', I just love the zainy intro.
