Not a major anime fan, but Mushishi definitely has something. First off we have the beautiful animation. The images are soft and delicate and are really relaxing to watch. There is a great sense of calmness to the lives and setting of the characters. Each episode always leaves me feeling introspective. The show reminds me of Debussy's Arabesque, very soft and tranquil in nature. Imagine taking a trek down an open field, breathing in pure, fresh air. That is how watching the show feels like.
