Advantages: Great Story, so well told, great central character relationship
Disadvantages: Subtitled
François is a middle-aged antique dealer. He is arrogant, rude, totally selfish and not afraid to insult his acquaintances, none believe he knows the meaning of real friendship.
His business partner makes him a bet when he claims he has lots of friends, a rare antique vase they got earlier that day is his if she meets his best friend, otherwise it is hers.
Francois tries all of his friends, but realises none trust him enough to consider him a friend, when being couriered around Paris, he chats with his driver, Bruno, a lovely chatty guy who is slightly too common for Francois and gets on his nerve, as they travel around Francois sees the genuine friendship and fraternity Bruno generates in others and learns from Bruno what it is to have the 'three S's', Sociability, a smile and sincerity. Francois attempts to pass Bruno off as his best friend but will Bruno be willing to help, will Francois convince and will he learn anything from this.

This is a lovely film with a fantastic finale, Daniel Auteuil is superb as the selfish Francois, he really nails his part, the relationship between him and Bruno is the central point of the film and works perfectly, I had tears in my eyes at the end as I found the journey had a genuinely moving ending, Dany Boon is really affable as Bruno and he is the real epitome of sociability and shows himself to be a better man than Francois even though he doesn't have the status or money.
The film is available on Amazon for £6.58, the film is subtitled.
Summary: A lovely French film with a touching ending
