Advantages: worth one watch - do it in 3D

Disadvantages: Didn't have 3D, probably would only watch once.

Story

The film begins with radio broadcasts, police communication and newspaper articles - through which we learn that there has been a cave-in at Hanniger Mining Co. The rescue teams find six people, five dead and one (Harry Warden) in a coma. Initially the blame is placed on Tom Hanniger, who forgot to bleed the lines, that cause the cave-in. Through the news flashing across the screen, we soon learn Harry murdered the other five miners to prolong his air supply following Tom's mistake. A few months after the accident, on Valentine's Day, we see Harry wake from his coma, and remember the moment he told Tom to not screw up. A nurse enters the room and before she can do anything Harry kills her. Harry tracks down Tom, back at the mine and just as he is about to Kill him the sheriff shots Harry and he disappears into the depths of the mine.

Ten years later, and Tom is back along with him it appears Harry has return too and the murders begin again......

Following reviews that I have read I really wasn't sure what to expect. I didn't see this in 3D which is a shame and I would have like to. I really love a good horror film, and while I wouldn't say this is a great horror film - it is ok. I enjoyed it, liked the twist at the end, it was unexpected, but on the whole it could have been better.

I have not seen the original and from what I have read it is better with the 3D effects, but it was ok as horror films go. It is very gory which works in this film. It is cheesy and doesn't really take too much thinking, but who's to say that is a bad thing - not me. It is actually quite refreshing to have a traditional cheesy horror film - these days horror flicks can be very intellgent, this is basic and goes back to some of the 80s horror genre classics with he added bonus of it being in 3D.

Summary: Good Simple Horror film.
