The advertisement on the Internet seemed innocuous enough. Five volunteers wanted to spend six months in an isolated house, having their every move watched online by millions of subscribers via a network of surveillance cameras. The rules were quite simple. If any of the group leaves the house, or tries to make contact with the outside world then the game’s up. If they manage to stay for the full six months they each win a million dollars. What could be simpler? The five successful applicants take up their challenge and find themselves isolated in a rather creepy old house, with very little in the way of entertainment. But entertain one another they do, and ... Read the complete review

It?s my own stupid fault. There are no reviewers so out of synch with Wampy's own feelings about things than those who work on the BBC website. If they love it, I hate it and vice versa, it never fails so, yes, it's my own stupid fault because I read a review of My Little Eye on there which was rather favourable and went to watch it expecting something at the very least 'watchable' and hated it. In my defence it looks as though the UK got the movie before anyone else(other countries probably had the sense to send it straight to video) so my favourite critical sources hadn't reviewed it which left me floundering for info. but still, I should have ... This is a review of just the film as seen on ITV last night, though I first watched this back in 2003 when it first got released on DVD. Basically the film is a homage to The Blair Witch Project school of filming with elements of Big Brother thrown in for good measure and a liberal amount of suspense and terror intended to play on our inner fears of voyeurism and being watched by person or persons unknown. The premise is thus ~ five strangers have agreed to take part in a reality Webcast that is to be aired all across the internet; the catch ~ they have to spend six months living together in a deserted house in the middle of nowhere, adhering to curfews and ... I'm a big horror/thriller fan, so when this came on the TV a few weeks ago I was looking forward to watching it. Most films of this genre are very samey recently, so be prepared for some unoriginal characters and storyline, but overall not as awful as I'd expected :) My Little Eye was released on DVD in 2004 cert 18 due to violence & gore etc. They should really have but a warning sign on to expect stereotypical idiots as characters too in my opinion. It's written by David Hilton and directed by Marc Evans, both of whom have been involved with a few other projects though nothing overly significant so this is probably their first major production. The lack ... Read the complete review
