Mystic Pizza (DVD) ... released 04 September, 2001 at MGM Entertainment / Features of the DVD: Anamorphic, Dubbed, PAL, Widescreen / A sweet and sassy comedy about the bonds of sisterhood, Mystic Pizza offers the opportunity to see some solid young actresses early in their careers. Three sisters of blue-collar Portuguese descent work in a pizzeria in the coastal town of Mystic, Connecticut. Each has her own unique romantic entanglements. One is the fast girl in town (Julia Roberts) who falls for a rich kid but wonders if she'll ever be accepted; one is the lifelong local girl (Lili Taylor) in love with her fisherman boyfriend (Vincent D'Onofrio) but scared of what marriage will do to their sex lives; and the youngest sister (Annabeth Gish) dreams of going to Yale but during a summer of babysitting has an affair with a married man. Through it all each sister depends on the others regardless of the complications. It's the alluring charm of the three disparate leads that makes Mystic Pizza the delightful experience it is. --Robert Lane, Amazon.com

I first saw this film when i was a teenager and since brought it for my "Chick Flick" collection (as my husband calls it!) for those days when only a tub of ice cream, duvet and snuggle up on the sofa with a good heart warming film will do. And this is one of the films. It is still as good as i remember when i was a teenager! Mystic pizza is the story of three young women who work at a pizza parlor in the town of Mystic, Connecticut and the struggles that they face in their lives. Each woman fasce different problems throughout the course of the movie and you follow each of their storys. Jo Jo's boyfriend wants a commitment from her, while ...  Read the complete review

Iv watched this lots and never get fed up if its a great story and it keeps you interested from start to finish with great storyline s throughout. I do not want to go into to much detail about the story cos i believe that ruins it for people so instead of telling you the whole story. I will describe it from a different view point for the men watching it there's the beautiful Julia Roberts and for the women there's the extremely handsome Adam storke sparks fly between them both when they meet. Mystic pizza is a very original film i cant say i have seen one like it you certainly get caught up in the romance of the relationships between the characters ...  Read the complete review

I first saw this movie when it was shown on Channel 4 and I thought it was such a great movie. I think I was a similar age to the characters, that sort fo discovering life for the first time and standing on your own two feet stage. But even now everytime its on the television I see it in the Tv Guide and think what a great film and watch it every time. I stars among others Julia Roberts, but all the cast play their parts well and the way the story is woven together using lots of different bits of each of the characters lives is really intersting and holds your attention. one to watch with a friend ...  Read the complete review

I watched this on channel four when it was on at stupid o'clock in the morning! I was so hooked that I went ionline the next daty and just had to have a copy of this movie. It stars a very young Julia Roberts as a very fiesty girl working in a Pizaa Parlour (Mystic Pizza) with her bestfriend and little sister, wasting her life and dreaming of better. Better comes along in the shape of a young, attractive, rich guy (sports car and all!) and he whisks her off her red head feet. The film really focuses on the relationships of all three girls, not just with each other but each alos has a lovely young male interest and its a real feel good film focusing on bonds, ...  Read the complete review
