THE FILM Its quite funny that for all three of these films (and their respective DVD's), I could quite easily have written the same review and just changed the heading, so similar are they in terms of the film, the disk and the positive and negative points on each. However, I wont ;) Titled as bizarrely as the second film in the sequence, Naked Gun 33 and a third continues the trend of gut-aching comedies in wonderful fashion. The third and final Naked Gun film (although as of 2008 there are rumblings that a fourth one is supposedly in development), 'The Naked Gun 33 1/3: The Final Insult' deviates little from the format of its two predecessors, although this time around the film starts off whit Frank having married love interest Jane from the previous films and retired from the force, instead living a quiet settled life baking cupcakes in a pink apron and slippers. When you want to turn your brain off and just enjoy a funny film then watch this movie. There are three films in the Naked Gun series and this is the last of these three. The main star of this film is of course Leslie Neilsen who plays Lieutenant Frank Drebin of the Los Angeles Police Force. But, Frank has been retired for six months and is just getting used to retirement and life at home, when The Police Squad beg him to take on an undercover assignment to catch a mad bomber.
